Manhattan Parking Garages Guide
Finding parking garages in midtown Manhattan is downright nightmarish. Not only is driving in Manhattan difficult, but finding a place to put your car when you are done using it is, if anything, even harder. Whatever Manhattan parking garages there are are likely to be full when you get there, and the prices are outrageous. Because of this, it is important to always have several destinations in mind and not just one Manhattan parking garage. If you get good directions, you will be able to find plenty of Manhattan parking garages, hopefully will not be stranded in that New York City nightmare scenario of going around endlessly, over and over, never able to find any parking that is within half a mile of where you want to be.
Of course, the difficulties posed by Manhattan parking garages are one of the many reason why people often prefer not to drive in New York City. You see, between the congestion, the crazy and overly aggressive drivers, the honking, and the outrageous prices and scarcity of Manhattan parking garages, it is just simply not worth it to go out driving in Manhattan. There are buses and subways that go to almost every place that you can think of, so why would you want to have to depend on Manhattan parking garages, when you can arrive right at your destination and not have to worry about your car. Really, it is a fact that quite a few of the people that I know in New York, if not most of them, do not even own cars. You never need cars unless you are going out of town for the weekend, or something like that. Everyone dreads the Manhattan parking garages, as well as the New York City traffic. Why not make the bus drivers navigate it for you. I am sure that not even they own cars.
Of course, parking in Manhattan garages is possible, and in some situations it makes a lot of sense. If you are a tourist in New York, and are going out to do a lot of shopping, you can use one of the Manhattan parking garages as your home base. This way, you can store your purchases in your trunk with a fair amount of safety, and then come back for them when you are all done for the day. This can make a lot of sense, but I still think that dealing with Manhattan parking garages is not worth it unless you have a whole lot of purchases to stow.
